Changing slant of the sun,
this is what I look for…
When I lived in my last house it was situated perfectly for me to really see and experience the seasons as they moved about the sky. Suddenly in the morning everything was different. The rainbows through some pieces of glass were in different places the bevels on my clock and my mirrors spoke to me. I could tell the time of year so easily. Sometimes I look back at photographs and know that it is another thing I miss. Where I am now is so different and I can watch tiny slices of light hit differently but now it is simply an overall feeling in the light itself. We have such wonders in every bit of this natural earth we live in. Try to watch the small things.

I look at all of these photographs of shadows, of lines in my rooms that make anything beautiful, and I cannot believe I took so many of them, forgetting for a moment that I am a painter. Most of my research photos are like that or they are, strangely enough, of flowers, dead or alive, and trees…so many trees. They are the other things I find fascinating. I know that if I move again I will be sure that I know the way autumn comes sliding in and the way spring shows up.

These photos 'felt' like home...
Beautiful pictures, each one with a story of light.
